The mini leaders is a fully resourced leadership and character education programme where pupils will lead break time & lunch time games for other pupils in the school .

The competition will feature a group stage followed by knockout finals.  

Players should wear shin pads and suitable footwear. The Playing surface will be 3G Astro.

Games will be 7-min halves with rolling subs throughout the games.

Rules of Association Football apply apart from the following variations:  

- no offside  

- rolling substitutes during a stoppage of play.  

- All players should receive equal playing time where possible  

- goal kicks can be taken from anywhere within the penalty area 

 - all free-kicks are DIRECT 

 - all opposing players must be AT LEAST 5 yards from the ball at the taking of freekicks, corner kicks and kick-offs. 

 NUMBER OF STUDENTS - Each school can bring a maximum of 10 players, with 7 players on the pitch at any time. Rolling substitutes are allowed.

We can also enter the 1st place runner in each event as an individual unless they qualify with their school team.

The first rule of flag football is pretty straight forward: there’s no contact allowed. That includes tackling, diving, blocking, and screening. Instead, players wear flags that hang along their sides by a belt. To “tackle” the person in possession of the ball, the opposing team needs to pull one or both of their flags off.

While flag football rules are designed to keep players safe, you’ll find that they also create an engaging, fast-paced version of football without the physical contact. 

Here’s a list of basic flag football rules: 

• All passes must be forward and received beyond the line of scrimmage.

• Direct handoffs as well as unlimited backward pitches and passes are allowed behind the line of scrimmage. No backwards passes or direct handoffs are allowed past the line of scrimmage.

• The quarterback has 7 seconds, from receiving the snap, to release the ball. Once a backwards handoff, pass or lateral occurs, the 7 second rule goes away and the offense has an unlimited amount of time to throw a forward pass.

• The player receiving the snap (QB) cannot run across the line of scrimmage with the ball. The QB can hand off or pitch/throw the ball backwards to a teammate and then catch a forward pass across the line of scrimmage.

• Offensive players must steer clear of the rusher and may not get in his/her way.

• A maximum of 2 designated defensive rushers may legally rush the quarterback. All designated rushers must identify themselves, with their hand raised until the snap, to legally rush from the 7 yard rush line.  Designated rushers are not obligated to rush, but if they do, they must rush immediately upon the ball being snapped.

• Once the ball is handed off, pitched or thrown backwards by the offense, all defenders are eligible to rush across the line of scrimmage.

• Interceptions are returnable for 6 pts. during a scrimmage down or for 2 pts on any extra point attempt. A backwards pass intercepted in the air, behind the line of scrimmage, can also be advanced by the defense for a score. 

• The ball is dead when it hits the ground, the offensive player’s flag is pulled from their belt, the ball-carrier steps out of bounds, or the ball-carrier’s body—outside of their hands or feet—touches the ground.

• All offensive flag football penalties result in a loss of down and yardage.

• All defensive flag football penalties result in an automatic first down and some are associated with yardage.

The Disney shooting stars festival aims to inspire & engage pupils through active storytelling using characters and scenarios from popular Disney films such as Toy Story, Frozen, Lion King, Incredibles & Aladin. These events aim to develop pupils’ fundamental movement skills, subsequently support the development of physical literacy, speaking and listening, confidence & competence.

Schools can bring one class of 30 students to attend the festival from foundation, from year 1 or year 2.

We also encourage pupils to dress up in their favourite Disney Character, but still wearing correct footwear (trainers)

This is an INSPIRE festival which aims to give students the opportunity to experience a range of sports and friendly competitions with other students.

This festival will have an Alternative Sports focus, with stations consisting of different sports children would not normally get to try out, such as new Age Kurling, quidditch, dodgeball.

Schools can bring a team of max 15-year Ks2 students to participate, this can be a mix of boys and girls.

Winners of this Event will go through to County Finals.

Teams will be split into small pools or be put into one large league depending on the number of entries. Teams will then play each other in their league with the potential for a knock-out round to decide the winner. Rules Teams of 3 are required. Boys or Girls. Schools are limited to 2 teams. Boccia is a seated game similar to bowls with both teams trying to get their ball to finish as close to the ‘jack’ (white ball) as possible. Each player will be given 2 balls (6 for the team) with teams taking it in turn to roll/throw their ball toward the jack. Only one player can throw at any one time. If a ball leaves the playing area (approx. badminton court size) it is removed from the game. Players cannot leave their seats to play a shot, but the ball can be played however they wish (thrown, rolled, kicked, pushed), ramps can be provided for players with reduced dexterity. Scoring After all the balls have been delivered the team closest to the jack wins the end. If the winning team has 2 balls closer than the losing teams closest ball they gain 2 points. Ends can be scored 1 0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 or 6-0. Both teams cannot score on the same end. Games will be best of 3 ends with the score from each end added together to form the result. Teams will be awarded 3 points for winning a game

PLAYERS 1. The squad should consist of a minimum of 4 boys and 4 girls and a maximum of 5 boys and 5 girls. 2. 4 boys will play the 1st and 3rd periods of the game whilst 4 girls will play the 2nd and 4th periods of the game. SUBSTITUTIONS 1. In the case of a substitution through injury the substitute will be a squad player or a player who has scored the least points in the game. 2. Substitutions cannot be made in a game unless due to an injury. 3. Substitutions must be made between games. 4. Players can be used to replace a player fouled out.

Children will be taught how to manoeuvre with their feet off the ground while on the bike and how to improve acceleration and stopping in control. They will also practice turning and manoeuvring bikes using the handlebars to navigate around and through obstacles. Sports leaders from Derby College will help out at the event with ESSP Bikeability instructors. We want to give as many primary pupils as possible the opportunity to take those first steps on the road to learning how to cycle safely. One booking per school and 30 pupils max.

Teams will then play one another leading to a knock out round/finals to decide the winner Rules Games will be 6 per side with a max squad of 9. The game starts with 4 balls in the middle of the court. On the referee’s whistle player’s race to collect the dodgeballs and then retreat past the back line. The game is then live, the objective being to strike an opponent with a ball below the shoulders and without the ball bouncing. If a player is hit in this way he/she is out of the game. Shots can be blocked using another ball or can be caught. If a ball is caught on the full the catching team recall a player to the game and the player who threw the ball is out. The game will be played inside a full badminton court. If a player leaves the court to avoid being hit they will be given out. When one team has eliminated all the oppositions players they are the winner. A time limit will also be set for each game, at the end of this time the team with the most players remaining are the winners. If there are equal numbers of teams the game will be called a draw, if in a playoff round a 1v1 ‘throw-off’ will be used Scoring The winning team in each game will receive 3 points, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a defeat
